Director Patrick Egan Discusses Civil Discourse in The Chronicle of Higher Education
An article by Eric Kelderman and Francie Diep asks, "Everyone’s starting ‘civil dialogue’ programs. Will they work?"
“How do you make the case to various constituencies on campus that this is important, that it’s constructive, that it’s not ideological?” said Patrick J. Egan, a professor of politics at NYU and director of its Berkley Institute for Civil Discourse and Civic Solutions who attended the leadership retreat. “Given the day and age we live in,” he said, “that skepticism is understandable.”
